Joseph & Joy's Christ-Centered Wedding at Fundamental Baptist Church | Livingston, Louisiana

Some weddings are especially meaningful because of the relationships that have been built long before the wedding day ever arrives.

Joseph and Joy's wedding at Fundamental Baptist Church in Livingston, Louisiana, was one of those days.

I've known Joseph for his entire life. His grandmother was my piano teacher, and I've had the privilege of watching him grow into the man he is today. His parents have faithfully served as missionaries in Nigeria for many years, making it even more special to witness the beginning of this new chapter in his life as well as Joy's parents also being missionaries.

I first met Joy through state conventions, where I had the opportunity to serve as one of her judges over the years. Watching these two families come together felt like a true answer to prayer—a match built on a shared love for Christ.

Held in early June at Fundamental Baptist Church in Livingston, the ceremony reflected the values that have shaped both Joseph and Joy throughout their lives.

It was evident that their intention was that Christ remained at the center of every part of their wedding day. Family members, lifelong friends, and guests traveled from near and far—including several who made the journey from Nigeria and England—to celebrate alongside them.

Seeing so many people gathered from different parts of the world was a beautiful reminder of the lasting impact Christ has had on all of us.

One of the sweetest moments from the day was their first touch and prayer before the ceremony.

Rather than seeing each other before walking down the aisle, Joseph and Joy shared a quiet moment together, holding hands around a corner while exchanging personal letters/vows and gifts. It was an emotional, faith-filled moment that allowed them to focus entirely on one another before saying "I do."

Those are the kinds of moments that often become the most treasured memories.

The reception perfectly reflected Joy's personality.

Elegant teacups, soft candlelight, and thoughtful details created a warm and welcoming atmosphere where family and friends could celebrate together. Every element felt intentional and uniquely "Joy."

One detail guests especially loved was Joseph's groom's cake, which paid tribute to his career as a pilot—a fun and personal touch that made everyone smile.

After years of watching both Joseph and Joy grow, it was an incredible privilege to document the day they became husband and wife.

Their joy was evident in every smile, every embrace, and every quiet moment throughout the day. Surrounded by generations of family, lifelong friends, and loved ones from around the world, they began their marriage with a firm foundation in Christ which I know will only grow. Christ has been so good to us!

Congratulations, Joseph and Joy. It has been such a blessing to witness your story, and I couldn't be happier for both of you.
