MR. & mrs. Mathews

Even though I'm normally a Baton Rouge wedding planner or Baton Rouge wedding photographer, this wedding was different. Brice is the son of my youth pastor and youth pastor's wife when we (my husband and I) were teens. Not too long ago, he contacted me about what photography gear to purchase because he was looking to take some photos for the college he attended. I'd see photos of him and Katie and thought they were such a cute couple and couldn't wait to meet her.

Fast forward about a year and Brice texted me asking about an engagement photographer, for Katie and him!!! I was so excited! Even though since they live out of state, we couldn't make that a reality, they reached out again about me doing their wedding... in Wisconsin. I couldn't say "no." I was excited from the moment they booked! This was also one of the few weddings that my family was able to come with me to! I was their destination wedding photographer! ;-)

First Looks

The day was finally here. Everyone was ready and the first look with the bride and groom was coming right after bridesmaids photos. They were the sweetest! Katie was so excited to show Brice that he had guessed that her dress had buttons - and it did! Their love for each other was so obvious.

Ceremony

The ceremony was beautiful! It exemplified Christ and all He is to us. There were smiles and happy tears from many of their loved ones. Everyone was truly excited for such a sweet couple to be sharing in this thing called "marriage."

Reception

The reception was a fun time of fellowship and celebrating the new Mr. & Mrs. Laughs and smiles were common as everyone enjoyed the company of those they hadn't seen in some time. Brice and Katie, instead of a money dance, did a cake smash fund- whoever had the most money got to smash cake in the others face. Of course, Katie won so Brice got cake smashed in his face. Everything was wonderful. :-) (Brice might say differently with cake smeared on his face but... ;-p)

Brice and Katie,

I can't say how honored and thankful I was to be a part of your wedding! From the first talk even until now, y'all have both been the BEST! You are both so kind and have such sweet spirits. Your wedding day had just those vibes and made me cry at times at the nostalgia in my own life. I LOVED every minute of it! I'm so so excited for you two! I loved serving y'all and can't wait to see what God will do in your lives together! <3

Love y'all!
